 Ward 7 Councillor John Brassard was spellmaster for the Grade 2 Barrie Literacy Council's spelling bee. The event took place on February 20th., 2010 at the Kozlov Center.
 Ward 7 Councillor John Brassard attended the 10th anniversary celebrations for the Barrie Enterprise Resource Network located in Ward 7. Councillor Brassard spoke of the need for the City to increase it's support of small and medium size business as identified in the the Economic Development Strategy.
