Saturday parking fees were abolished as part of a new Downtown parking strategy. Rates were adjusted to provide funds to build more parking spaces. 60 new temporary parking spaces were provided downtown, with another 300 coming on stream by end of summer when the Collier Street Parking Garage is completed.
Council established their strategic priorities and rolled out an aggressive advertising campaign including television, radio and print advertising to engage the public and provide opportunities for citizen engagement.
Several other members of Council have held neighbourhood meetings, distributed newsletters, and established websites as part of a stronger effort to communicate with the public.
Thanks to the support of Rogers Television, Members of Council have been prerecording "News You Can Use" as a community relations initiative that airs between Council and General Committee on Monday nights in an effort to provide more proactive communications.
A Cultural Development Office will be established in 2007 to maximize the economic benefits and tourism strategies linked to the economic sector. Staff will monitor grants to arts organizations and support our home-grown talent.
Traffic lights throughout the City are being converted to LED technology - using a fraction of the electricity they did previously and lowering maintenance costs. Council approved funding a Wind Power demonstration project, led by a volunteer group, the Barrie Windcatchers. Council also switched to paying for Electricity on the open market saving $150,000/year from the fixed rate plan we were on.
The Georgian College Neighbourhood Strategy was completed and approved. The goals of the strategy include ensuring the safety of all forms of student housing, increased compliance with City by-laws and regulations and improved communication and information sharing among residents, landlords, students, Georgian College and the
City.Emergency Management By-law Ratified by Barrie City Council. With this by-law, City Council fulfils the requirements of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act of June 2006 to adopt an emergency management program and emergency plan for the City of Barrie.

Co-authored a resolution adopted by Council to ask the Provincial Government to issue a policy statement on suitable locations for alternative fuel energy facilities like Ethanol.
Have worked with the residents of Kenwell Cres and continue to monitor the situation of the Bear Creek Forest near the secondary school
Have dealt quickly with numerous zoning and by-law complaints within the Ward meeting one-on-one with residents who have concerns.
